Why Little Mix Are So Fantastic

There are myriads of reasons to why Little Mix are so special and why fans love them. Here are my top ten reasons why Little Mix are so amazing. My list will introduce you to more of their cool facets.

1. Array of Captivating, Catchy and Fun Songs

This includes the upbeat and feel-good pop songs such as ‘Black Magic’, ‘Move’, ‘Love Me Like You’ and ‘Weird People’, ‘Shout Out to My Ex’ and ‘Touch’. Perfect for fans of pure pop! So, get these bangers turned up loud! They’ll get you up and dancing!

2. Coolest Music Videos

Their music videos are just as colourful and exhilarating as their music. Go check their music videos out. You won’tt be disappointed! Many of their music videos are themed. From the band being cowgirls in a saloon in the video to ‘No More Sad Songs’, to being geeks in ‘Black Magic’, and to dressing up as super stylish dolls in a funky doll’s house in their latest music video ‘Bounce Back’. For ‘Love Me Like You’, my favourite music video, the girls act as high school girls at their prom.

3. Best Friendship

The girls’ friendship is so strong, special and unbreakable. They are genuinely the best of friends, always being there for each other. For example, during a performance on stage, Perrie burst into tears because she had split up from her long-term relationship with One Direction star Zayn Malik only days earlier. Instinctively, the girls created a circle around her, comforting her. If you want to see their amazing friendship, there are plenty of videos on Youtube showing their friendship. For me, one of the best ones is ‘Little Mix - Friendship’ by LittleMix videos. You’ll want to watch it repeatedly. It is so beautiful!

4. Vast Love and Care for Their Fans

Little Mix deeply appreciate the continual support they receive from them. When the band did a Glory Days Road Trip, they used it to stop off and meet many of their fans. Little Mix frequently talk about how they want to empower their listeners. For instance, in a 2018 Lorraine interview, Perrie confidently says how the band aim to teach every one of their fans to embrace their insecurities as that’s what makes them unique.

5. Message in Their Music

They have a wide range of excellent inspirational, meaningful and motivational songs. From helping listeners get over heartbreak in their buoyant single ‘Shout Out to My Ex’, to female empowerment bangers such as ‘Salute’, ‘Power’, ‘Joan Of Arc’ and ‘Woman’s World’. Songs that have got the power to make you feel 1000 times stronger! If ever you feel like you have low self-esteem or confidence, or you’re being bullied, or are facing adversity while chasing your dreams, then Little Mix have a fantastic collection of songs, coming from their personal experience and insecurities, which give you motivation and make you feel that bit more empowered. These are; ‘Wings’, ‘Little Me(a favourite of mine),We Are Who We Are’, ‘Clued Up’, ‘See Me Now’, ’Change Your Life’, ’Stand Down’, ‘A Different Beat’, ’I Won’t’ and ‘The Cure’. A story of how a Little Mix song helped a person’s life is when someone Little Mix worked with had a daughter who had been crying because she detested her thick afro hair. She wistfully longed to have the hair of the blonde girls, feeling strongly convinced she didn’t look as good as the other girls. She then listened to ‘Little Me’ which helped her enormously to get over her insecurities, learning to love her hair the way it is.

6. Bravely Opening Up About Personal Struggles

Jesy had regularly received online trolling and bullying because of her weight and looks, particularly in the early days of Little Mix. In her honest and hard-hitting documentary, Odd One Out, Jesy talks openly about her long and agonising struggle with the trolling and her suicide attempt when it all took its toll. The devastating documentary teaches us the importance of being kind to people as we don’t know what they are battling inside and to speak out about our internal troubles. The documentary was broadcasted on BBC One on 12th of September 2019. Jade has also talked about her battle with anorexia in her teenage years, as a result of difficult experiences, namely bullying, her parent’s persistent arguing and her beloved grandad’s death.

7. Marvellous Covers

Not only can they make top quality original songs, they can produce brilliant covers too. Little Mix have done many talented covers. My favourite rendition is when they covered ‘E.T’ by Katy Perry. It is a hugely powerful cover with rich vocals. Other top Little Mix covers are Rihanna’s ‘Love on The Brain’, Fun’s ‘We Are Young’ and Damien Rice’s ‘Cannonball’. Please go and listen to them. You’ll be incredibly impressed by their voices. They harmonise on point in covers, acoustic versions of their songs and in their a cappella songs, namely ‘The Beginning’, ‘Boy’ and ‘The End’. My personal favourite acoustic versions of their songs are ‘Touch’ and ‘Little Me (Unplugged)’.

8. Constant Support For Major Causes

The band aren’t just known for their wonderful music, having helped important causes and done splendid charity work. Including travelling to Liberia, in Africa, for 2014 Sport Relief, and visiting the slums where people live in horrific conditions and the hospital, where many children were passing away from malaria because mosquito nets were shockingly unavailable. It was an emotional experience for the band. In addition, the girls are great supporters of minority groups. In the music video to ‘Power’, Perrie is seen backing world peace. Jesy advocates female rights and Leigh-Anne, racial equality. Jade is supporting being LGBT as she’s a fantastic advocate for the LGBT community. She passionately campaigns for the LGBT charity Stonewall and had encouraged a fan to come out, who posted a message about this to the band on twitter. There is more about Jade’s LGBT advocation on https://www.capitalfm.com/artists/little-mix/jade-thirlwall-lgbtq-ally/.

9. Excellent Logos and Posters

The logos and posters the band has are super eye-catching, fun and vibrant. A unique attribute of Little Mix is when they started out, each girl had a different symbol to represent their individual personalities and looks, appearing on much of their merchandise. Perrie had a flower to reflect her bohemian personality. Leigh-Anne had a cap, as she is ardent about fashion. Check out LeighLoves, the fashion blog she keeps. Jade has a bow tie as she is quite geek-chic, and Jesy had a boombox as she is a dancer and is hip-hoppy. You can check out their logos and posters on google images.

10. Taking Part in Exciting Activities Other Than Singing

Earlier in 2019, on their YouTube channel, Little Mix made a series of videos where they take part in fun activities. They have a cooking series called ‘Eat in With Little Mix’ where each member cooks a meal for the other girls and is rated by the others on their cooking. Also, in their Mix It Up videos they participate in space hopping, painting and dog training. Go check these videos out!
